Government financial institution (GFI)

A government financial institution (GFI) is a financial institution or corporation in which the government directly or indirectly owns majority of the capital stock and which is registered with or directly supervised by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). For purposes R.A. No. 10744, GFIs are, but not limited to, the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) and the Industrial Guarantee and Loan Fund (IGLF). GFIs may contribute funds to the Credit Surety Fund (CSF) either in the form of investment or contribution, thus, they shall be considered as members of the CSF Cooperative. (Sec. 4(k), R.A.
